Overview

Quality Engineering and UX Design at Tesla's Design Studio

I interned at Tesla's Fremont Factory within the Design Studio on the UX/UI Design & Design Quality Engineering team.

I was in charge of ensuring the design studio's vision for our products' color, harmony, texture and more is executed with excellent quality. We also engage with Tesla's suppliers and engineers by providing direction when reviewing parts for the entire process, from initial trials to final production.

I split my time between the quality team and the UX design team. There, I worked on redesigning from the ground up an internal enterprise platform for all mass production change requests.

My work is under NDA.

Ensuring excellent quality in consumer-facing parts for Tesla's automotive and energy products.

Revitalizing Tesla's UX design for an internal production change system and updating the user interface for Tesla's design standards.

100+ Parts Launched

Upheld designers’ vision and ensured excellent quality for 100+ customer facing parts from trials to production for Models S/3/X/Y, Cybertruck, Energy Systems and future products.

$44k Saved

Directed supplier and engineers to implement my recovery plan for a critical Model Y appearance defect, averting a potential production line shut down and preserving $44k worth of parts.

Interactive PDF

Built an interactive PDF resource to facilitate cross-functional understanding and streamline external communication of the Design Quality process.

Int'l Travel to Supplier

Traveled internationally to suppliers to assess parts with urgent timelines, audit internal quality processes, and strategize product development.

UX/UI Design

Initiated a UX/UI redesign for Tesla’s production change system to optimize user interactions and ensure efficient task completion.

Model 3 Refresh

Successfully launched 40+ parts for appearance approval installed in the 2024 Model 3 refresh and Model 3 Performance.
